Práce je doplněna přehledem používaných alternativních testů. Doposud neexistuje jednoduchý test, který by validním způsobem rozlišil látky dráždivé od senzibilizujících. Kožní toxicita má několik forem nejčastější jsou alergická kontaktní dermatitida a iritační kontaktní dermatitida. Tyto formy jsou histologicky a makroskopicky nerozpoznatelné, avšak patogeneze těchto dvou forem je zcela odlišná. Je známo, že na funkci antigen prezentujících buněk je založen mechanismus alergické kontaktní dermatitidy. Narozdíl od iritační dermatitidy, kde dochází k aktivaci imunitní kaskády uvolněním prozánětlivých mediátorů, které přímo aktivují T buňky. eng	Difference in the mechanism of skin sensitization and irritation	The aim of our review is to characterize differences of the pathogenesis for skin toxicity and to describe the survey of alternative tests. There is not only one test for simple the determination of two skin toxicity endpoints, sensitization and skin irritation to date. Cutaneous toxicity may have several forms, those of greatest prevalence being allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and irritant contact dermatitis (ICD). Although the skin elicited reactions are usually indistinguishable with respect to macroscopic or histopathological appearance, the pathogenesis for ACD and ICD are clearly very different. It is well established that antigen presentation to the T cells are essential in the mechanism of ACD. In contrast the ICD is believed to activate the immune cascade independent of the antigen presentation pathway, by stimulating release of proinflammatory mediators and cytokines that directly recruit and activate T cells.
