eng CHARACTERIZATION OF V-MCM-36 CATALYST WHICH COMBINE ACIDIC AND REDOX PROPERTIES Vanadium-containing zeolites are of a special interest because of their structural, acid/base and red/ox properties, which afford a structure displaying channels and/or cavities with restricted space where selective oxidation reactions may occur. Disadvantage of zeolites is the fact, that they could be used only for reaction of relatively small molecules. However, sometimes it could be beneficial used this suitable properties of vanadium containing zeolites for reaction of larger molecules (i.g. transformation of biomass to fuel, selective oxidation of larger hydrocarbons). The possibilities how to solve this problem is using of pillared or delaminated type of zeolite. The discovery of layered form of zeolite MCM-22 was exploited for synthesis of pillared zeolite MCM-36 which combines unprecedented mesoporous structure and high zeolite activity. molecular sieve; catalyst; characterization
