eng Thermal properties and crystallization of alkaline-earth borophosphate glasses Glasses of the BaO-B2O3-P2O5 system were prepared and their thermal behavior was studied by DTA. Glassy powders were crystallized by annealing at temperatures slightly above crystallization peaks observed on DTA curves. The annealed samples were studied by X-ray diffraction analysis and by Raman spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction revealed that at a low B2O3 content in the annealed samples crystalline barium metaphosphate BaP2O6 is formed and that at several samples the diffraction diagrams reveal weak diffraction lines of the compound BPO4. A new compound of the composition Ba5B2P8O28 was identified in the crystallized glass 50BaO.10B2O3.40P2O5. Raman spectroscopy confirmed the identification of dominant crystalline phases by X-ray diffraction Borophosphate glasses; thermal properties; crystallization; XRD; Raman spectra
