eng Recyclable Catalysts for Asymmetric Henry Reaction Based on Copper(II) Complexes of 2-(pyridine-2-yl)imidazolidine-4-thiones The aim of this work was preparation and study of enantiocatalytic activity in Henry reaction of heterogeneous catalysts based on copper(II) complexes of imidazolidine-4-thiones, as a structural analogues of previously studied high enantioselective catalysts based on copper(II) complexes of imidazolidine-4-ones,2 and their anchoring to a polymer carrier. The copper(II) complexes of substituted (pyridine-2-yl)imidazolidine-4-thiones were prepared and their catalytic activity and enantioselectivity was verified. Further, the imidazolidine-4-thiones catalysts were immobilized to polymeric carriers based on a copolymer of styrene and 4-vinylbenzyl chloride. It was found out, that the enantioselectivity of these heterogeneous catalysts is comparable with the enantioselectivity of those homogeneous forms (~90 %). The heterogeneous catalysts can be recovered and reused more than ten times without loss of their enantioselectivity and catalytic activity. Thus, they are more advantageous not only economically, but their application is also more environment-friendly.
