eng Sleep quality and sleep patterns in men and women in relation to body composition Introduction: Incorrect sleep regime and sleep deprivation in today's modern society is associated with the risk of numerous health problems, including weight gain in healthy people and the subsequent risk of obesity and other metabolic diseases (metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes). Methodology: body height, weight and body composition were measured by standardized anthropometry in a group of 500 research participants (55 men, 445 women) using the bioelectric impedance method. The research participants also agreed to complete the standardized Quality of Life questionnaire (WHO questionnaire, WHOQOL-Bref), which examines satisfaction with and quality of sleep. Results: The distribution of research participants in categories by BMI showed that 6.20% of research participants were underweight, 69.20% had normal weight, 17.60% were overweight and 7% were classified in the obesity category. Overall, the probands stated that they were satisfied and unsatisfied with their sleep and rated the quality of their sleep as medium. The level of satisfaction and the quality of sleep were rated lowest by the probands from the obesity category. Sleep quality; Body Height; Body Weight
