eng SODIUM ZINC PHOSPHATE GLASSES WITH TITANIUM The aim of this work was to prepare the phosphate glasses with a composition close to potential bioglasses. The series with composition of xTiO2-(40-x)ZnO-10Na2O-50P2O5, where x = 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 was prepared and the influence of titanium on the phosphate glass structure and some properties of glasses was tested. The structure of glasses was studied by Raman, EPR, 31P and 23Na MAS NMR spectroscopies, for more details the static 31P NMR spectroscopy was used. It was observed that the increasing amount of TiO2 induced changes in the metaphosphate structure of glasses. From 3 mol % TiO2 the metaphosphate structure partially passes into pyrophosphate structure. The prepared glasses were also characterized by thermomechanical analysis, density and molar volume, Vickers microhardness and surface energy. The results confirmed the anticipated influence of titanium on strengthening of the glass network. titanium phosphate glasses; structure; physicochemical properties; 31P MAS NMR;
