eng Effect of storage conditions on service life of tyrosinase amperometric biosensors Amperometric tyrosinase biosensors could find a wide range of applications in clinical analysis, especially in the diagnosis of serious illnesses [1]. The great question remains why these bioanalytical devices are still remain an academic subject of interest. An explanation could be found in their short service life which is usually not longer than several weeks [2,3]. Hence, an effect of storing conditions on service life of a tyrosinase amperometric biosensor was investigated. Neurotransmitter dopamine was chosen as a model analyte. The serial preparation of the tyrosinase biosensors was based on the immobilization of the enzyme onto a surface of a commercially available screen printed carbon electrode using a cross-linker glutaraldehyde and a Nafion® copolymer to prevent the enzyme elution. Prepared amperometric tyrosinase biosensors were stored at different conditions according to the recommendations in the literature [4,5]. Amperometric measurements were carried out in the batch and flow injection configurations. Their current responses to constant dopamine concentration were measured every three days and obtained data were statistically evaluated.
