eng Microfluidic device with integrated nanotubes based on TiO2 for viral RNA detection Lately, the demand for highly sensitive methods for isolation and detection of viral RNA increased, due to the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic. Our newly developed method combines immuno-magnetic separation of viral particles with RNA isolation using TiO2 nanotubes on microfluidic chip. This offers several advantages in comparison to the traditional approaches. The specific antibodies bound to magnetic particles allow us to separate viral particles from whole volume of sample and subsequently to concentrate them into smaller volume, compatible with microfluidic chip. The chip technology allows us to minimalize the volumes of the reagents as well as time required for the RNA isolation. Viral RNA is captured using TiO2 nanotubes with magnetic properties, which are utilized for easy integration of this material into the chip device. This method is fast, sensitive and is compatible with PCR for final RNA detection. microfluidic device; nanotubes; RNA isolation; viral RNA detection
