eng Transformation of ethanol to higher alcohols by transition metal promoted Mg-Al mixed oxides in flow reactor The paper is focused on the use of Mg-Al mixed oxides synthesized from hydrotalcites by temperature treatment. The mixed oxides were used as heterogeneous catalyst for the conversion of ethanol to butanol in the microflow reactor. All synthesized materials were characterized by various analytics methods. The reaction was carried out at different reaction temperatures (280, 300, and 350 °C) and constant WHSV (4.5 h-1). It was found that the presence of nickel, copper and cobalt positively influenced the catalyst activity. Moreover, it was found that ethanol conversion increased with increasing temperature, but in the same time decrease selectivity to butanol. mixed oxides; catalysts; ethanol; alcohols
