Triclosan (5-chloro-2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)phenol; is a lipophilic compound with a antimicrobial properties, which has been widely added to personal care products and pharmaceutical products for its preservative, antiseptic and disinfectant effects . Currently, triclosan is considered a highly toxic substance, acting as an endocrine disruptor, a genotoxic compound and an environmental pollutant that has a negative impact on the aquatic ecosystem and human health [3].
