eng Mechanochemistry-based synthesis of layered titanium phosphates Up to now, the sole method for γ-titanium phosphate preparation is a heating an amorphous titanium phosphate in concentrated orthophosphoric acid to 200 °C. In this study, we wanted to try this minimalistic liquid approach to prepare titanium hydrogen phosphates using alkali metal dihydrogen phosphates. In the case of ammonium and lithium dihydrogen phosphates, desired γ-type titanium phosphates can be obtained. The use of sodium and potassium dihydrogen phosphates leads to a formation of NaTi2(PO4)3 or KTi2(PO4)3. Similarly, α- or γ-titanium phosphates intercalated with various organic bases (aliphatic amines and diamines, aniline, pyridine) can be prepared by using phosphates of the corresponding base.
