eng Adsorption of small molecules in CHA zeolites A short study on the influence of the presence of extra-framework potassium cations in CHA-framework zeolitic materials on their CO2/CH4 adsorptive separation potential was presented. Several commercial CHA matrices with different Si/Al ratios (8-16) were used for the study. Their separation performance was evaluated by a measurement of single-component adsorption isotherms and subsequent analysis of the data by numerical methods (IAST, calculation of adsorption heats) as well as by FTIR spectroscopy. It was found that the transport properties of CO2 and CH4 were not influenced by the presence of extra-framework potassium cations in the studied samples, while significant influence on thermodynamic properties was observed, the materials with greater amount of potassium showing much higher CO2 adsorption capacity than samples with lower or no amount of potassium. adsorption; zeolites; FTIR; adsorption isotherm; adsorption heat
