Bulanek´s team is currently focused on the study of properties and applications of advanced porous materials in catalytic and adsorption processes. Currently addressed topics include:

  • study of cationic adsorption sites in zeolites by means of probe molecules
  • assessment of textural properties of layered two-dimensional, hierarchical and new „unfeasible“ zeolites
  • investigation of differences between 2D and 3D forms of zeolites
  • synthesis and adsorption studies on carborane-based MOFs
  • study of diffusivities and adsorptive separations light olefins and parrafins  on molecular sieves
  • research of nature, strength and catalytic activities of the Brønsted acid sites in solids
  • study of the nature and structure of active sites of heterogeneous supported catalysts and the relation between structure-activity/selectivity in selective oxidations of saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbons or alcohols to more valuable compounds (e.g. appropriate olefins, oxygenates or aldehydes)
  • investigation of textural and adsorption properties of the inorganic oxide microfibers
